Basic Information:
Arthrotec is a combination of diclofenac and misoprostol.
Diclofenac is a NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug).
Misoprostol is a synthetic prostaglandin which stimulates the
secretion of mucous in the gastrointestinal tract, thereby
reducing the development of ulcers of the stomach caused by
NSAIDS.

PREPARATIONS
Arthrotec 50 contains diclofenac sodium 50 mg and misoprostol
200 µg per tablet. Arthrotec 75 contains diclofenac sodium 75
mg and misoprostol 200 µg per tablet.
STORAGE
The tablets should be kept at room temperature, 15-30°C
(59-86°F).
PRESCRIBED FOR
Arthrotec is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and
osteoarthritis.
DOSING
The usual dose is one tablet two to four times daily. Taking
Arthrotec with food may reduce stomach upset. It is
recommended that Arthrotec not be taken with alcohol because
of the increased risk for ulcers caused by diclofenac.
